In this chapter, you will learn how to successfully update the Infoclient. We explain the important steps required for this and show you how to ensure that your system is always up-to-date.
One of the options for updating your info clients is the auto update. You can find more information in the Autoupdate chapter. To update the Infoclients manually, follow the next steps.
1. uninstalling the current version
|
From version 6.3.3.5 of the EXE installation, it is no longer necessary to uninstall the Infoclient when updating. However, if a downgrade to an older version is desired, the current version must be uninstalled beforehand. |
To update, the current version of the Infoclient must first be uninstalled. To do this, open your Control Panel and go Uninstall a program, select “Cordaware bestinformed version number” and uninstall the application.
As an alternative to the Control Panel, you can also use the Windows settings. Open Windows Settings, go to Apps > Installed apps, search for “Cordaware bestinformed version number” and uninstall the application.
After uninstallation, configuration files remain in the installation directory (by default C:\Program Files (x86)\Cordaware\Infoband) of the Infoclient. These contain, for example, the server address and port. These are required to maintain the configuration of the Infoclient. Further information can be found in the Uninstall Infoclient chapter.
2. installation of the current version
To install a new version of the Infoclient, you need the installation files for the new version. These can be found in the Cordaware customer portal, or you can contact Cordaware customer support directly at support@cordaware.com.
Execute the installation file of your choice on the system. The individual steps can be found in the EXE installation and MSI package installation chapters. It is important that you reinstall the Infoclient in the same directory.
3. update completed
The update of your Infoclients is now complete and you are using the latest version.
