Manage watchmen

This chapter describes the watchman feature, which allows you to specifically control and monitor alerts in your alert units. Using watchman helps you to effectively prevent false alerts and optimize the flow of information.

A distinction is made between two types of watchmen:

Releasing watchman (An alert of the selected alert unit will only be send after a release through a watchmen)

Informing watchman (Watchman which is notified when this alarm unit is alarmed)

The following button opens the overview of the watchmen:

ManageWatchmen

In the overview you can see all existing watchmen:

You can select the alert unit of the watchman here.

Note:

As soon as you declare a Releasing watchman for a location, this watchman will receive every alert of this location and has to release it afterwards before it will be send to the actual recipients.

!!!Caution!!!

If a declared Releasing watchman is currently on vacation or the watchmans Infoclient has not established a connection to the Infoserver for example, the triggered alert will still be sent to this watchman. Since the watchman cannot release this alert, there will be no alert!

In this case it is advisable to declare several watchmen to ensure that a watchman is available at any time to release an alert in case of emergency!

Adjusting the watchman template:

You can customize the templates for the watchman. To do this, navigate to the Location Manager settings.

In the Watchman tab, you can adjust the template for the releasing watchman as well as the information text for the informing watchman.

These templates are displayed to the watchmen as soon as an alert needs to be released or has been triggered. The common formatting options are available to you for designing them.
