Special Notes on Azure AVD (AppV)

Please note the following when using Cordaware bestinformed in combination with Azure AVD (AppV):

The Infoticker will not be streamed to Remote App sessions without the following changes. To now also stream the Infoticker to Remote App sessions, make the following changes in the registry of the providing machine.

Attention: Editing the registry improperly can lead to severe errors! Please be cautious and careful when editing the registry. It is generally advisable to make a backup of the registry before any editing is performed.

Add Infoclient Progman.exe to Userinit: (C:\Program Files (x86)\Cordaware\Infoband stands for your Infoclient installation path, if this is different for you, adjust it).

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon -> Userinit[REG_SZ]=C:\WINDOWS\system32\userinit.exe,C:\Program Files (x86)\Cordaware\Infoband\Progman.exe

In the Remote App sessions, there may be a problem that the Infoclients of the Remote App sessions are displayed without username in the connection overview. To now allow the Infoclient to work with the initialization via Progman.exe and thus solve the problem, set the following Infoclient.ini setting. It is also important that the previous change has already been made.

Infoclient.ini:

NoDefaultShell=True (Initialization of the Infoclient for remote app session with Progman.exe)

Note on unterminated remote sessions

If a user closes the remote connection, the remote session remains active or the user remains logged on to the server as disconnected. The Infoclient session continues to run and the Infoclient remains connected to the bestinformed server. If you now want the Infoclient session to be terminated as soon as a user closes the remote apps, adjust the following group policy path on your server:

Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Remote Desktop Services > Remote Desktop Session Host > Session Time Limits

Here you can now set the time limit when a session is closed after disconnection. The Infoclient is also terminated when a session is closed.
