Desktop Virtualization

If desktop virtualization (VDI) is used, the virtualized desktop runs locally on a server and each user session is a remote session. However, there is always a local user session in the virtualized desktop, so two licenses are required when a user connects remotely to the virtualized desktop. To reduce the license consumption in a VDI, the following two options are available in the "Infoclient.ini":

Start Infoclient only during remote session

If the option StartInfoclientOnRemoteSessionOnly=true is set in the "Infoclient.ini", no Infoclient is started during a local session. An Infoclient instance is started only in remote sessions.

Passive mode for local sessions

If the option PassiveModeOnLocalSession=true is set in the "Infoclient.ini", the Infoclient is started in passive mode in every local session. This option works only if StartInfoclientOnRemoteSessionOnly=false is set. Otherwise the Infoclient is disabled in a local session. If the Infoclient is in passive mode, then it can connect to the Infoserver and receive Infos. However, this Info is not displayed. An Infoclient in passive mode does not need a license from the Infoserver. Forwarding for dynamic channels is supported in passive mode.
